OrchestrasThe BBC Concert Orchestra, which was destined to be merged with the Symphony Orchestra under last year’s planned cuts, has received further assurance of its security with the hiring of a new manager, who starts work this month.
The new suit is Matthew Swann, former CEO of City of London Sinfonia.

The CLS website suffers from a dearth of information, and describes Stephen Layton as Artistic Director and Principle (sic) Conductor. Is he still in charge?

Yes, and it also clearly says further down “2017 Alexandra Wood appointed as Creative Director”. They’re not exactly going to point out when somebody stepped down are they?
So that means that Stephen Layton is no longer Artistic Director & Principal Conductor, and Michael Collins no longer Principal Conductor? The band now has no conductor and is directed by the leader, Alexandra Wood, violin?
