Look who’s pitching for Salzburg
OperaMunich media are reporting that Serge Dorny, Belgian head of Bavarian State Opera, is one of the eight candidates to have applied to be director of the Salzburg Festival.
Dorny, 62, has been in Munich less than three years. He was previously ousted in Dresden – unfairly, according to a court ruling. His main credential is a decade in charge at Lyon.
But ambition springs eternal.
