I assume the Stravinsky Concertino is on some of the other stops.
This is such a presumptuous orchestra. All their playing is flawless but superficial. These play conductprograms with Yuja, Mitsuko or Leif-Ove are just so boring… but programmers see, to like this. Only when MCo get a good conductor like Gatti they have something to say.
They can’t afford Gatti. What pick up group in the world can afford a “good” conductor these days? Conductors demand salaries that are exponentially larger than what any musician makes. Why should these players take a cut out of their own earnings to pay for a conductor they can do without on a lot of repertoire.
Maybe makela will come on and do some bits on the cello
Great way to keep the cost down!
They get paid a pittance. Almost bordering on a student orchestra.
Great. That’s your opinion. So if they get paid a pittance, how can you expect them to shell out for a conductor?
While they play their instruments. Not whilst.
Oh, so after a few lessons with Klaus, she’s now also a conductor.
Maybe she’s just looking for a new baton
