The list of musicians on the San Francisco Opera website omits a key player.

The name Sam Schlosser, principal trombone, has been deleted.

Neither he nor anyone else is responding to inquiries and the rumour mill is starting to grind.

Schlosser is a tenured member of the company.

Where on earth has he gone?

What’s the purpose of this story exactly?

If it’s personal or health related, why create any disturbance by potentially having others unnecessarily look into this?

I’ve had colleagues feel like they’ve fulfilled everything they’ve needed to in an orchestra and decide that it’s time to explore, or pursue a hobby full time. If so, why the need to post an article about it?

If it happened to be as a result of some sort of disagreement, why and how would it pertain to you exactly?
