The hyperambitiuous tenor Yusif Eyvazov has added a new string to his multifgarious career. He is presently a frequent performing partner to his wife Anna Netrebko and general director of the Azerbaijan State Opera.

Now he has launched his own artist management company in Vienna.

Here’s what he says:

Exciting news! I am pleased to announce the launch of «ARENA ARTISTS MANAGEMENT,” an international artists agency based in the heart of Vienna!
It was once my dream to sing on the Big Stage and now I’m ready to share my experience and knowledge of the music industry with other artists, as well as to create an environment where their creative ambitions can turn into real opportunities and opportunities into vivid success stories.
Our agency aims to collaborate with opera singers, stage directors and opera conductors worldwide.
In Arena Artists each artist is a unique star deserving the attention of a global audience.

Will Netrebko be his first signing? Since firing her Universal management after Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, her bookings have been managed by industry fixer Miguel Esteban.

“Arena Artists”… Is this an allusion to the Arena di Verona where the festival is – and will be in the future – built around THEM as Cecilia Gasdia assures us? Anyway, let’s play a little guessing game as to whom the multifunctional Yusif might take under his wing? as they both like to do things within the family one can imagine that in addition to HIMSELF and HERSELF Yusif might sign his longtime pals like Elchin Azizov or conductor Yader Bignamini, and also some members of Anna’s harem. Maybe old friends like Zhidkova or Maximova, maybe some newer recruits, like some ballerina or Russian / Austrian pianist (or is she rather a violinist? I’m not sure). Maybe some fresh imports from Russia and Azerbaijan? or maybe the resourceful Yusif could get some work abroad for his buddies Phillip Kirkorov and Dima Bilan, disgraced in Russia after the (in)famous “Almost Naked” party? Ha! time will tell.

I predict great success – Eyvazov will have the market cornered for managing performers who are unapologetic racists and bigots. They will all feel like they’ve found their true home.

  • Herr Doktor says:

One other comment – we should all be grateful that Eyvazov is now going to be managing the careers of others. This means he will now have much less time to sing – which is great news!!

Who is that guy pictured with him? His first client whose profession is … what?

  • Michael J Ellis says:

Who is booking Yusif or Anna? The article speculates ” …who she will book first.?”

  • Tom Phillips says:

Obviously Armenian artists need not apply given his genocidal racist attitudes towards them. Hopefully this new project will reduce (or even better entirely eliminate) his performing career.

How many poisonous comments! Disgusting to read….

  • SAM says:

I hope he is a better manager than he is a singer.
