A great talent, an amazing career.
Legend. Pure and simple.
It is hard to imagine a less appropriate way to sum up this extraordinary career than to cite two of her liaisons. It is inconceivable that you would treat the life of a comparably accomplished man in this manner.
Sorry, Norman – I read this site every day devotedly but have to agree with Max. It would have been better to wait a day or two and then post a proper acknowledgment of Ms. Rivera’s death. Hers was a life and career of exceptional longevity and accomplishment, and she earned every accolade through talent, unceasing hard work, and singleminded focus. It really is dispiriting and disappointing to read this pathetic reduction.
One of the greats of the Broadway stage and you “story” is about an affair she had with another performer???? Oookay!
