Broadway’s original Johanna has died
RIPThe singing commuinity is mourning the death of Sarah Rice, a popular soprano who sang the first Johanna in Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd on Broadway.
Aside from singing musicals and operas, she had a sideline playing the Thereminovox wherever ethereal sounds were required. Not many such specialists left.
