A Vera Rozsa soprano records for Israel
NewsThe Russian-born soprano Ilona Domnich, a former student in London with the legendary Rozsa, has made an unusual film interpretation of the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah, with a coloratura conclusion.
She says: ‘I am a singer and the best way I can express how I feel is through my voice. I am also an entertainer and my job is to uplift my audience, transport to a better place.
‘This video is my tribute to the tragic events of October 7th, my expression of support for Israel and Jewish communities around the world. This is my way to say that I condemn Antisemitism, hate speech and discrimination towards Jewish people.’
