As Brooklyn accents go, his is pretty light. When I first moved to NYC, I couldn’t figure out where this strange place called Lon Galand was… Am I correct in thinking that Irish is the most beautiful of all the English accents? To say nothing of the literary Dubliners like Yeats, Wilde, Joyce, and Beckett? It’s so odd how English was forced on the Irish and as revenge they turned it into an even more beautiful language.

Well, I guess it’s a matter taste. The Yorkshire accent varies even by region even within Yorkshire, but they are all endearing.

Jess Gillam played our small concert series in Virginia a year or so ago, just before her debut at Carnegie Hall. She absolutely charmed our audience, both with her personality and her playing—it’s great to see such a delightful person having such success.

I don’t know where David Krauss comes from but there is not a trace of a Brooklyn accent in his speech. It seems to be very small town USA. I grew up in Brooklyn and went to Brooklyn College where we all had to take a mandatory speech class to get rid of our Brooklyn accents, particularly to stop “dentalizing” the letters t, d, l and n.
