Philadelphia makes historic China return
OrchestrasThe first western orchestra to visit Communist China has made a sentimental return for the 50th anniversary of its breakthrough.
Only 14 players this time, but one of them was violinist Davyd Booth, 73 (pictured), who played first time round in 1973.
The group will perform with the China National Symphony Orchestra in Beijing on Friday, before giving masterclasses and small concerts in Tianjin, Suzhou and Shanghai.
President Joe Biden sent them a letter of encouragement.
