Label snooze: Warner chief heads back to New York
NewsWarner Classics has promoted Sean Michael Gross to the new role of Vice President, North America and UK. Gross has been Warner’s UK chief for the past two years, in which output has stalled and visibility fallen.
Warner says: ‘Gross has been a driving force for innovation within the music and performing arts space for more than two decades. Gross has run Warner Classics in the UK for two years, during which time he has grown the label’s market share, established boundary-pushing emerging acts such as Abel Selaocoe, Fatma Said and RIOPY, and successfully led a campaign to reform the Official Classical Charts to make them more inclusive.’
He may do better on home turf.
What is Warner Classics?
A relic from another era.
The beginning of the end for this label! What a very strange choice.
