Agents scuffle over Operalia winner
OperaWe hear there was quite some jostling between artist agencies over the right hand of Operalia winner Stephano Park – the hand that signs away his career management.
The winner was announced last night. He is Nathan Morrison of London-based Intermusica. Park will be well managed.
Park, from South Korea, has been a member of the Vienna State Opera studio since last year.
I’m sure he’s a fine singer but agencies should be asking themselves whether it’s appropriate for any singer to associate themselves with Domingo these days. Yes, Domingo has been welcomed back into some corners of polite society (mostly in Europe, not the U.S.) but that doesn’t excuse his widely documented behavior. Think about that, Intermusica.
So any singer that took part in Domingo’s competition should be forever tarred by the accusations made against him? This is a most ridiculous comment.
Not forever tarred – but this association certainly calls into question their judgement and sense of right and wrong.
People who flippantly say “give it a rest” have clearly never experienced sexual assault or harassment first-hand.
Your simplistic ease of forgiveness undoubtedly extends to Mr. Trump’s supporters Faye. How equitable of you.
Idiots of a feather…
Give it a rest.
It’s only widely documented in trial by media.
I’m surprised the grandson of Domingo did not sign him like he did with the two winners last year!
You leave out the point that Dominic Domingo had already made agreements with the Operalia winners for management before the competition.
