Addiction recovery orchestra plays at Royal Opera House
OrchestrasA Brighton-based ensemble formed of musicians in recovery from drug and alcohol issues found itself at the premier opera venue on November 4.
The New Notes Orchestra were engaged to perform a new dance piece, Traces Through Time, with the Fallen Angels dance theatre group. Their slogan is ‘fighting addiction through dance’.
You can find both ensembles on Facebook.
Once upon a time, the classical music industry would be promoting orchestras for their quality of the music making, not PR gimmicks.
What a sad world we live in.
Shame on you. This is a worthy cause and the classical music industry is quite right to make a little room for it.
