  • Scottish musician says:

They’re conductors of orchestras, not only of women. Shouldn’t the header read: ‘Two more orchestral conductors on the move’?

  • Ex-conductor says:

I know, lot of people will agree – the profession of conductor is not more a thing about music. It’s about trends (I’m not against women conductors), which are praised by us, the audience. So we just flow in this «river of hopelessness»

  • MagPat says:

Women Conductors? Shouldn’t you then also specify “men conductors “? Does the music change accordingly?

    • Nina says:

It will be “women conductors” because of the word “conductor” has been always affiliated with men’s world. It will be “women conductors” because of the word “conductor” has been always affiliated with men’s world.

  • Hugo Preuß says:

Here comes a suggestion: stop using the term “women conductors”. Kamela Harris isn’t a “woman Vice President”. Angela Merkel was not a “woman Chancellor”. And Anja Bihlmaier and Lucie Leguay are not “women conductors”, they are conductors.

  • So? says:

Won’t amount to a hill of beans.

  • Dirigentin says:

I hope you call male conductors “male conductors”, not just “conductors”

  • Dirigentin says:

Oh sorry, I mean not “male conductors” but “men conductors”

  • Peter San Diego says:

Let’s just focus on conductors’ musicality and leadership abilities rather than their genders. All the best to Bihlmaier and Leguay, whose work I’ve not yet heard.

  • Roger says:

    Congratulations tutti!

  • Woman Conductor says:

Sadly women in their 50s are considered too old for agents. Now we are seeing lots of “women” conductors because its trendy.

  • Zandonai says:

Call me old fashioned but I still prefer seeing an old white male orchestral conductor on the podium and I am not Caucasian.

  • Conducting Feminista says:

Conducting is set to become an all women profession
