Vexations are rising in New York
NewsThe 60th anniversary of what is claimed to be the first performance of Erik Satie’s Véxations – an aptly-named work designed to be played unvaried exactly 840 times – is being repeated today at New York University.
Each of 24 pianists, mostly students, will play the theme 35 times.
Ask not the reason why.

Igor Levin played the entirety himself during the lockdown from his Berlin home:

Levit played all 840 iterations during covid isolation. These young whippersnappers must be lacking in stamina. 😉
