How do you launch a successful career in classical music today? That’s right, my child: be black.
Norman, you shouldn’t approve these kinds of posts.
Why not, Dave? It’s free speech…and it’s true.
Free speech is not an absolute on a “comments” thread.
No, but truth certainly is. And this is the truth. Put on some sunglasses – clearly the light has blinded you.
And you should take your white hood off.
WTF???? Soloman has had an outstanding career for quite a long while, starting off with IMG Artists and then following his manager to a boutique agency. He is an outstanding singer and actor. Why are you making this about race? His career started, and was successful, long before all of the woke nonsense. Shame on you for being such an ass. Askonas Holt signing him is just another step in his career as he moves more into European engagements. Some people…
And I agree with Dave. Norman, you shouldn’t approve comments like this that are blatantly racist.
It’s certainly a racist comment, but it’s a mystery why such overrated singers like this land these jobs or get signed by big agencies. Look at the Youtube of him singing with the Placido Domingo Classics, it’s like he’s doing a caricature of an opera singer with a Big Voice.
If you have anything to criticize, why not go with the voice instead of the skin color? There are many off comments on this site, but this is definitely one of the most openly racist.
Has it occurred to you that he might be a good singer? And if he is not: how about some information concerning his musicianship? But no, it is skin color and only that. Pretty disgusting.
All I insinuated was that being a certain skin colour guarantees more success in classical music. Everyone knows that.
What a disgusting “person” you are. Probably said the same about Leontyne Price, Bumbry, Verrett, Arroyo etc.
I hope he sings as well as he dresses. Looking forward to the ROH Rheingold!
He has a magisterial voice and an imposing presence. He was the best thing in the Carsen Aida in Covent Garden last season. He is the real deal. He will go far!
