Conductor mourns his psychotherapist wife
RIPThe British conductor Alexander Walker is mourning the death of his wife, Larissa, founder of Psychologists of the World for Ukraine.
She leaves a five year-old son.
This was her initiative 16 months ago: ‘We have put together a community of Russian and Ukrainian-speaking psychologists and psychotherapists who are offering free online help to Ukrainian refugees, in any location. We now have enough psychologists (and spaces for new clients!) and the website is working well with major bugs fixed. I am immensely grateful to those of you who responded to my cry for help and helped me find volunteers to develop it (I launched the first version myself). Even my professional association which is normally not very responsive, has replied in just a few hours saying it’s going to support our project. The moment when the universe miraculously helps.’
Deepest condolences, Alex. I heard from Mum, this is just devastating. I’m so sorry.
I am very sad to hear this tragic news. I know Mr. Walker slightly, and can only imagine what he’s going through. My deepest condolences.
So sorry to read this. Thinking of you, Alex.
So lovely to meet you today, Sunday, Alexander. We chatted at the market as we are friends of Wayne Sleep. We do wish you and your son a Merry Christmas and understand it will be a difficult time.
All the very best
