OrchestrasAnthony Limoncelli, second trumpet in Atlanta, 30, has been appointed principal in Cincinnati.
Other Cincy hires are Drew Dansby and Nicholas Mariscal, section cellos; Alexander Pride, Second Trumpet; and Gerald Torres, Double Bass.
He’s older than 25
Yeah I think he’s actually 30?
Fantastic hire!!
Are you related to the Herseth who was a trumpet player?
Bud died in 2013.
You would certainly know
Hey I’m 30 thanks!! Ask next time
30 is still young!
he is 30….
Atlanta Symphony: the orchestra brass players use to find other jobs (see Tom Hooten, Mark Hughes, Stuart Stephenson, Chris Martin, Richard Deane, Colin Williams, George Curran…)
You forgot horn players Ernesto Tovar Torres, Chelsea McFarland (both to Philadelphia) and Jacklyn Rainey. Plus also trombone players Bill Thomas and Brian Hecht.
The list is long and I’m sure that it will grow / continue in future…
The last four all to the NY Phil.
Congratulations to all, but … are we sure this isn’t just Pete Buttigieg moonlighting? 😉
I had to google Pete. there is one picture…..
btw, no one, I mean no one says “Cincy”
30 is still young! When I was 30, Richard Nixon was president AND I’m still playing principal in the CSO. I’ll outlast them all and die in this chair! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Limoncelli completed his graduate studies at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music as a student of Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer. He has performed as acting principal trumpet of the Houston Grand Opera, where it was clear he had something special.
