Hollywood strike hits tonight’s BBC Prom
NewsMessage from the Proms office:
Tonight’s Fantasy Film Music at the Proms will now be presented by Katie Derham and Ali Plumb.
Due to the ongoing Screen Actors Guild strike, Hannah Waddingham has decided, sadly, she can no longer host due to the contents of the Prom.
Ms Waddingham is an actress in The Game of Thrones.
She left her cancellation very late.
I was sitting in the third row wondering why the music couldn’t be allowed to speak for itself
Ah, Mr. Lebrecht. There is no “the” in “Game of Thrones,” and I suspect that most people know Ms Waddingham from the t.v. show “Ted Lasso.” Perhaps when you talk about popular culture you might find someone a bit more in the know to check your work.
Can you please not explain what this means? In human?
Does anyone really care?
Not Radio 3 listeners.
Believe me, a last minute presenter replacement is about the least alarming thing to happen with the Proms Festival.e
