Finnish musician is killed in Russian strike
NewsFinnish media are reporting the death on the Donetsk front of Ihor Subotyak, a Ukrainian musician who had long lived in Finland.
As soon as the Russians invaded, Ihor went home to enlist. He died while rescuing survivors from the ruins of a Russian missile strike when a second strike was targeted at the rescuers.
Ihor, who was 46, was very active in the Finnish community of Ukrainians. He sang in the Perespiv choir and was an actor in the Ukrainian Theater. His playing on the bandura and his singing were widely renowned.
