A sudden illness for pianist Ben Grosvenor has brought in the Leeds winner Alim Besembaiev for tonight’s BBC Prom.

He’s playing the second Rachmaninov concerto.

    Alim was indeed notable in both the concerto (one of the best Rach 2s I have heard in a long time) and with his encore:
