Son of a musicologist, RIP
RIPThe death has been announced of the ethereal novelist Milan Kundera, author of The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
Kundera, who was 94, had lived in France since fleeing Czech Communism in 1968.
His father, whom he adored, was the Brno musicologist Ludvik Kundera, favourite pupil of the composer Leos Janacek.
“The Joke” is still one of my all time faves. RIP to a great novelist
He should have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. RIP.
Surely the passing of the living novelist who mentions classical music the most deserves more fanfare than ‘son of a musicologist.’
