The Putin propagandist Sergey Mardan, a columnist in Pravda, is having another five minutes of fame.

In one of his trademark online rants, Mardan (real name Klyuchenkov) said this: ‘We will achieve out victory and Ukraine’s Culture Minister, who wants to cancel Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, we will hang him on Khreshchatyk (the main street in Kyiv)’.

They’re really begging for trouble from the international community, aren’t they!!!

    • Bone says:

Hopefully same community is seeing ukraine retaliating against civilians in russia now and realizes this is a full-blown no-holds-barred war between two nations, neither of which is a nato member; everyone needs to just let this play out and stay away before everyone gets dragged in.

      • Nicholas says:

It’s actually a full-blown no-holds barred war between one Nation and a Military Alliance with the Ukraine as a stand-in for the good Ol’ U.S. of A. What Kissinger said is so true: “To be an enemy of America is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal.” The always hat in hand Zelensky is learning the hard way, but do not be concerned. President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken announced Russia has already lost. All the demilitarization of Ukraine is an illusion and my cerebral leaders would never stoop so low as to be propagandists.

        • Genius Repairman says:

Nicholas, what I fail to grasp is why Russia became so hostile to the west. Russia could have joined greater Europe and discussed potatoes, vodka and Sturgeon in the EU along with France, Germany, Denmark and the rest. Why deliberately choose enmity when the real chance to be friends was there?

          • Nicholas says:

I believe America chose enmity because it believed Russia was too big and independent to be integrated into western institutions and could not be easily subjugated like the weakened Germany, England and France (Charles de Gaulle excepted) were after WWII. It need not have been so. The opportunity was there after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Many promises were made to Russia that were broken, especially in the field of global security order. You see, secretary of state James Baker promised Gorbachev that NATO would move not one inch toward Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification of Germany. Gorbachev agreed and it appeared Kumbaya was in the making. Then the NeoCons acquired more power in Government and Think Tanks and exerted an inordinate influence in shaping foreign policy. The result was a triumphalist American attitude toward Russia with the aim of weakening her. While Europeans may have been interested in discussing important stuff such as potatoes, vodka, nesting dolls, how to sing Eh Ukhnem, Kalinka Malinka, and dance the Gopak; the moment they wanted something trivial from the Russian Bear such as cheap energy, Uncle Sam appropriated a favorite word of Andrei Gromyko and yelled Nyet. If only the American people could elect a Genius Repairman to fix our foreign policy the world would be a better place.

      • Political Science Major says:

The narrative has already been shifting as people are fed up with paying billions for Ukrainian soldiers to break Western equipment while the world economy goes in the gutter. The “allies” are already looking for a way out of this, which probably will not be good for Ukraine.

  • Guest says:

Ukraine’s Culture Minister Alexandre Tkachenko resigned. He was criticized for budget spending during the war. It seems that Tkachenko also showed disrespect for the dead Ukrainian soldiers.
There were 2 petitions for his dismissal and more than 25 thousand Ukrainians voted:

    • Nicholas says:

One of the two (2) petitions suggests Tkachenko did not receive the Goebbles memo. He could have saved his job by denouncing all Russian art as “Degenerate Art. “
