Orchestra names chief conductor after 20 years without one
OrchestrasThe Hofer Symphoniker in Bavaria has managed very nicely without chief conductor for the whole of this century. The last chief, Golo Berg, left in 2001.
Now, they have revived the title for a young Belgian, Martijn Dendievel.
Winner of the 2021 German Conducting Award, Dendeviel is 27. This is his first job.

Good luck, Martijn, on your first real conducting job! And remember: EVERYTHING you do will be an improvement over the past twenty years anyway so don’t sweat the small stuff!
