Volpe is Italien for fox, isn’t it? By the way, I always thought Opera Holland Park was started by the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and grew out of existing programming by them going back long before Mr Volpe appeared on the scene. But maybe I’m wrong?
What was known as The Holland Park Theatre was in operation for many years under the ownership of RBKC When I got there in 1989 they were buying in productions. In 1996 I founded the production company and by 2001 we were were producing the entire season. We remained under the council until 2015 when OHP became a separate, independent charity.
And yes Volpe means fox!
Promises to be very good. His first book, ‘Noisy at the Wrong Times’ was a marvellous read.
Very kind Lawrence
