A court in Ontario has found a dangerous driver guilty on several counts of causing the death of the inspirational conductor Boris Brott in April last years.

Arsenije Lojovic, 35, had been involved in a ‘shocking scenario of dangerous driving in several parts’ of Hamilton, Ontario, the judge said.

He was found guilty of counts that included dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain (after) causing death. He will be sentenced on August 31.

Brott, 78, was artistic director of the Orchestre classique de Montréal.

  • Phillip says:

I fondly remember Brot when he conducted the New West Symphony in California.

  • Zarathusa says:

The guilty man was speeding on the wrong side of the road at 10 a.m. and probably under the influence of alcohol or/and drugs when he hit Boris who was simply crossing the street. Absolutely HORRIBLE! I hope he gets a maximum sentence for prematurely robbing the world of such an outstanding musical talent!

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

I wouldn’t bet on him getting much of a sentence. The criminal classes have little to fear from the justice system anymore – particularly in a country like Canada. They know it. We know it.

    • Greg Hlatky says:

Are you saying killing an ordinary Average Joe would justify a lesser sentence?
