Message from the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg:

In the coming season, the Elbphilharmonie – in a world first – is introducing the newly created role of Creator in Residence. The first person to take up that role is the well-known American YouTuber Nahre Sol, who will be sharing the magic of the Elbphilharmonie programme with her 600,000+ subscribers. In her unique videos, Nahre Sol covers all sorts of musical topics: Beethoven and Debussy, synthesizers and computer-game music, conducting and the theory of harmony. And that with great success: her YouTube channel alone has had 41 million views. And the social-media personality also reaches hundreds of thousands with her contemporary approach to music education on Instagram and TikTok. As part of her residency in the 2023/24 season, there will – in addition to numerous videos for Nahre Sol’s community – also be plenty of content published on the Elbphilharmonie’s various digital channels.

Nahre Sol found an additional creative outlet through content creation while studying the piano at New York’s prestigious Juilliard School. More than 600,000 subscribers now follow the American vlogger on YouTube as she explores the world of music in all its facets. The talented all-rounder is also a composer, producing song cycles, piano music and film soundtracks. As the 2023/24 Creator in Residence, she will spend several months in Hamburg. When she chooses topics to cover, she always communicates closely with her community. What is the secret of Franz Liszt’s Sonata in B Minor? How do you play the jazz harp? And what should you pay attention to when listening to classical music? As she searches for answers to these questions, Nahre Sol will attend concerts in the Elbphilharmonie, speak with artists and staff, and musically explore the iconic venue on the banks of the Elbe.

I muttered “WTF” at the headline, but when I got to her name I sat up in my chair. Nahre Sol is brilliant, and I have every confidence in her ability to make something of this.

      Agreed.

I enjoy her many of her YT offerings about piano technique.

These are obviously of limited appeal but she makes more general music ones.

She recently interviewed a violinist from the orchestra resident at the Elbephilharmonie.

From the Department of Desperate Marketing.

  • May says:

You can do all of the publicity possible but it still won’t make the hall sound any better.

  • Mecky Messer says:

Next up: the Only Fans influencer in residence.

The campaign will start with an exploration of G-Strings in the Viola Section. Surely this will engage fans.

    Yes, they are THAT desperate….
