German orchestra musician ‘fed three people rat poison’
NewsA member of the Schleswig-Holstein Symphony Orchestra has been charged in Hannover with attempted murder after apparently poisoning his 93 year-old mother and two fellow-musicians.
The incidents have been traced to Hannover in September last year. The alleged poisoner’s mother was rushed to hospital from her care home and found to have brodifacoum in her blood.
The two musicians said their colleague, 62, offered them a garlic dip that made them seriously ill.
Further details here.
It would make a perfect case for Maria Furtwängler, the conductor’s granddaughter (pictured), a popular detective on German TV.
And a real-life doctor, no less… 🙂
Everyone in Germany is either Herr or Frau Doktor.
Or Katherina Böhm, grand-daughter of Karl, the actor playing the title character of the German TV police series Die Chefin.
The movie version was better.
In “Nine To Five”, Lily Tomlin’s character thinks she poisoned her boss when she mistook the box of rat poison for the box of artificial sweetener.
I also work in an orchestra. There’s a colleague who likes to call the harassment hotline to make anonymous complaints against some colleagues. They will even personally visit Human Resources to demand investigations against those they despise or envy by fabricating stories of criminal behavior.
And what can you do? In a group of a hundred people there are bound to be at least a few psychopaths. You just hope they’re not near you.
Shades of the Bolshoi Ballet and the acid treatment!!
Call me anything, but I’ve always had a secret desire to feed everybody’s darling YNS a laxative.
I have never eaten garlic dip. And I would pass on it if offered.
Some of these dips can contain allergens and aflatoxins, eg sesame seed.
Although Frau (Dr) Furtwangler studied medicine she would need to re register to practice as she is an actress married on a millionaire publisher. She would also have to undergo training updates to practice medicine now.
Maria Furtwängler isn’t the conductor’s granddaughter, but the granddaughter of the mountaineer Walter Furtwängler, who was the younger brother of Wilhelm Furtwängler.
