Wigmore Hall takes on extra venue
NewsThe chamber music venue has just disclosed that it is putting on two concerts around the corner, at St James’s Spanish Place, in Marylebone.
Dating back to the 1660s, the church was originally part of the Spanish Embassy. Wigmore Hall says: ‘Its majestic interior, soaring ceilings and elegant stonework make it ideally suited for large-scale early music performances.’

Disgusting secularisation
Only sacred music will be performed there. I applaud this policy.
Ah, Nono, so you’re the composer of the nine piece chamber work, based on themes from the Broadway musical “No, No Nanette”. It’s referred to as the Nono “No, No Nanette” Nonet. Very secularized of you.
LOL…..
The church was built in the late 19th century, near the former location of a chapel of the Spanish embassy.
