Ralph Yarl, 16, went to pick up his twin siblings in Kansas City, Missouri. He rang a doorbell on 115th Street instead of 115th Terrace. The houseowner shot the boy through the door in the head, and again as he lay on the ground.

Ralph was rushed to hospital and is now recovering at home.

Hopefully, he’ll be back soon playing his bass clarinet.

Andrew Lester, 84, has been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

  • trumpetherald says:

The pic of the offender shows the most nauseating mug apart from Cadet Bone Spurs`. Who certainly would support Mr.Lester and his actions.

  • Roland says:

It´s a pity the assaulter is already an old man. He should be sentenced to jail for the rest of his life – which is too short at his age. Let´s hope that poor boy recovers quickly and fully.

  • AD says:

And another similar episode in Hebron, New York state, where a man shot and killed a 20 year old girl because she accidentally went with her car on his driveway (as in the 16 yo kid case, she mistoook the house, or something like that).

    Something is definitely wrong.

    • Tom Phillips says:

Yes something is definitely wrong with a country containing such multitudes of horrifically mentally ill and violent people – disproportionately from the Fox News-viewing set of old white people suffused with paranoic propaganda regarding the dangers posed by any and all black people.

      • Adrienne says:

Robert Louis Singletary, 24, shot 6 year old Kinsley White after a basketball rolled into his yard in North Carolina. The girl’s father was critically injured.

Singletary is black, the 6 year old girl is white. Was there a racial motive? Is Fox News to blame?

    • Matias says:

Yes, and two cheerleaders have been shot in a Texas carpark after opening the wrong car door.

The fact that he is black is not proof in itself of a racial motive. The root of the problem is having an estimated 350 million guns in circulation. It they’re readily available, they’ll be used.

  • Alan says:

America is a failed state at this stage.

    • observer says:

Just put a dome over the whole country like in the Simpsons

    • Henry williams says:

This is what happens when Americans can
      Buy a gun easly.

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

Yes, I was about to write that. Thank you for beating me to it. Indicting former Presidents, shooting children, fetishizing black violence BLM, and I’m told NYC is “finished”; this from a rusted-on Democrat supporting sister who helped two of their campaigns and who will not return. “I’m just too old to have to run home from the rail stations in New York; it’s dangerous”.

Congratulations; freedom has a curious face. For some.

      • John Kelly says:

Well I can assure you NYC isn’t “finished” it’s a heck of lot safer and nicer than in the 1980s when I moved here. Scaring people has become a media fetish. Don’t fall for it. Look at data. Slightly worse crime than a few years back but much less than the 90s or 80s or heaven forbid the 70s. Now if you’d told me Philadelphia was finished or Chicago, you’d be on better ground.

      • Orchestra Snob says:

*indicting criminals who should never have been president…

        There. Fixed it for you.

    • Kyle says:

And yet remains the cleanest shirt in the dirty laundry.

  • Unvaccinated says:

The old guy and the kid, both victims of a broken system and terrible Biden.

    • Tom Phillips says:

Old guy is no victim but a POS criminal savage who clearly has the same political outlook you have.

    • Anonymous says:

Or maybe a victim of the Republican governor, Republican senators, Republican attorney general, or Republican legislature of the state of Missouri. There is no shortage of other brain-dead analogies you could cite with explanation.

      • Tom Phillips says:

Nothing brain-dead about any of these likely contributing causes along with fear-mongering right wing media like Fox “News”, the New York Post and similar trash.

    • trumpetherald says:

Another spontaneous trumptard brain ejaculation…..More a victim of Faux News, and the orange turd and his brainless followers, and the domestic terrorist organisation GOP. Exactly th e brainless nonsense one expects from someone with the pen name “unvaccinated”.

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

He is barely cognizant of his surroundings, what else would you expect? Actually, I feel it’s tantamount to elder abuse having him there. But he’s a useful puppet.

  • Reality Sux says:

This is the correlation you’re making from this incident? And yet 1.5 million people immigrate to the USA, including huge net positives (diff. between immigrants and emigrants annually) from utopias such as Canada, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands (look it up! You’ll see people voting with their feet) etc including huge numbers of white collar workers. Should we shut down Germany while we’re at it?

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

Maybe those immigrants are protected because they live in communities which advocate for open borders but know they’ll never have to deal with anything which disrupts their lives. That’s why Ron sent the ‘migrants’ to Martha’s Vineyard – to highlight the staggering hypocrisy. It worked like a charm too!!!

    • Robert Holmén says:

One big reason the US has such a net influx is that it has much more liberal immigrate-to-work laws. If it was as protective of its existing citizen workers as those other countries are, not so many people would be bothering to come here.

  • Curvy Honk Glove says:

“[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door”
    – Joe Biden

    • Robert Holmén says:

Of course that’s only part of what he said…

      https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/joe-biden-shotgun/

      • Curvy Honk Glove says:

Wait… You’re trying to contradict my comment by posting a link to snopes.com that admits that those were Biden’s exact words? Oooh… Ya’ really got me with that little truth nugget. I’ll put the dots really, REALLY close together for you and tell you that this is how not to win an argument. However, you likely have a BS music degree and won’t be able to comprehend this comment in the first place.

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

Who would choose to live in the USA? It’s the absolute pits.

  • Robert Holmén says:

Old people like that spend their entire day watching FOX News replay the same riot footage from two years ago as if the whole country were in overrun by gangs.

He really ought to be up for attempted murder, after intentionally shooting the kid in the head, but with just “assault” charged he’ll get a plea bargain and stay out of jail.

But I bet the kid’s family will sue the Depends off that guy.

  • Jeremiah says:

Old man should be tryed for attempted murder no excuse on age he’s a racist this is why guns should be taken away . Tried for the death penalty.

  • Reality Sux says:

No, the US is in demand as a place to live because the ambitious individual isn’t seen as a threat and there are more opportunities than anywhere else. In so many countries including Commonwealth ones, the ambitious are seen as disturbing the equilibrium of the group. ‘what, you think you’re better than us?’ our way of doing things isn’t good enough for you?’. To want to be rich or at the top is seen as admirable. So yes, there’s more to life than universal Healthcare (often with huge wait times, turns out) and free university education (with very limited slots, turns out also). When a first-generation Turk becomes German Chancellor or similarly an Algerian becomes President of France, then you can talk. Yes, many things suck here, but there’s also something that no other county says.

    • Theresa says:

“When a first-generation Turk becomes German Chancellor or similarly an Algerian becomes President of France, then you can talk.”

One black (but no female) president?

      Big deal.
