Whiter Shade of Pale: Procol Harum songwriter has died

The death has been announced today of Keith Reid,  the lyricist of every original song recorded by Procol Harum.

Keith was 76.

    I loved the song in my youth both the music and the lyrics. That there were more than 1,000 cover versions by other artists s surely a sign of its universal popularity.
