Exclusive: Swiss open lawsuit against Putin’s cellist banker
NewsThe NZZ has a hair-raising report of the money trail that runs from Vladimir Putin via his cellist friend Sergei Roldugin into ompliant banks all over the world.
The Swiss have found 50 million francs (US $55m) banked by the not-terribly-successful musician at the Zurich branch of Gazprombank, itself an affiliate of Putin’s Kremlin.
Various bank executives have been questioned by police and a case will be brought in court this week.
Roldugin is the brother of Putin’s oldest boyhood and KGB friend. He is also a close associate of Valery Gergiev with whom he celebrated Putin’s ‘victory’ in Syria (pictured). He might need to make other skiing plans next year.
