Exclusive: Swiss open lawsuit against Putin’s cellist banker
NewsThe NZZ has a hair-raising report of the money trail that runs from Vladimir Putin via his cellist friend Sergei Roldugin into ompliant banks all over the world.
The Swiss have found 50 million francs (US $55m) banked by the not-terribly-successful musician at the Zurich branch of Gazprombank, itself an affiliate of Putin’s Kremlin.
Various bank executives have been questioned by police and a case will be brought in court this week.
Roldugin is the brother of Putin’s oldest boyhood and KGB friend. He is also a close associate of Valery Gergiev with whom he celebrated Putin’s ‘victory’ in Syria (pictured). He might need to make other skiing plans next year.

Have no idea who’s friend he is, but he never supported young talented musicians NOT from St. Petersburg.
His “House of Music” is located in a chic old mansion in the center of St. Petersburg, and there are a large number of security guards and female secretaries. Perhaps they are the “young talents”.
Been there, talked to the guy. Saw his institute. I find it hard to believe: we negotiated for hours on his fee 200 or 250 euro. Does not sound like someone who has millions on his bank. Never heard any story on him relating to power abuse. The students he has in his institute seem to like him….
