Yes, Petrof is a Czech maker. Their pianos are rather good, though some find the action a bit heavy.
I doubt many will be surprised to see that Putin’s preference is for a ghastly white model.
‘apotheosis of tastelessness… It is apparently made by a Czech manufacturer.’
Sounds a wee bit racist towards the Czech, Norman.
Question remains; when will Lada finally start producing pianos …?
Is it 20 feet long like that table?
Would better chairs calm him down?
Looks eerily similar to one Liberace used to play. Maybe Putzin got it on Ebay.

Generally, only two types of people are inclined to own white grand pianos: rock stars and rich people with bad taste. Some people fall into both categories, of course.
A famous female pianist once touring Tchaik 1 with Czech Phil and the marvellous Zendak Kosler arrived in a small town venue with the orchestra. The piano was a Petrof upright. He asked if she was fine about the piano, she replied ‘the lovely little Petrof and I will be better than fine’. Such modesty.
Not surprising Putin has a 9ft blanched instrument.
Didn’t they have a model in gold? I am disappointed.
The piano’s chair is very suggestive about the buyer’s priorities.
Putin and Trump use the same interior decorator, Hieronymus Gauche.
Petrof makes a very fine piano. Superior to any pianos currently made in Russia.
I wonder how many people have “fallen” out of that window?
Perhaps the piano is white for the same reason wedding dresses are white.
Reminds me of the gold plated tackiness of Donald Trump’s abodes. I bet he has a gold toilet also. I remember a quote from somewhere, “if only the rich had good taste!”
It must be a Skoda then, a wheelbarrow with two exhaust pipes!
Putin would not know Bach from Buxtehude! That man has axe waiting for him.
At least Putin plays it with his fingers.
