Things you can still see on German television
Daily Comfort ZoneNo television channel in the English speaking world would give a little-known pianist the chance to present a new album.
She just happens to be rather good.

I’d quite like to be as “little-known” as Olga Scheps …
echo-Klassik, several albums on RCA red seal, busy performance schedule (e.g. recently with Järvi and the Baltic Sea Philharmonic)
Have a look at this website to see how much music is available on German TV, both live and on demand, Mediathek is their word for Iplayer equivalents.

Such a beautiful touch and tone.
Hey, but does Germany have the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Rihanna? Case closed.
Good one, Carl!
They could probably watch it on TV.
Yup.
In Germany she´s known very well. She has already released several albums on the famous RCA label with works by Chopin, Schubert and Recitals with several composers (The Russian Album, Vocalise …). A wonderful pianist!
Don’t forget her Scooter album. 😉

Great for Olga! But you realise this is a regional TV channel, right?
So what? All content for national TV is created in regional (more precisely state level) studios in the ARD network, that’s how it works. There is no central nationwide ARD Studio.
We don’t really distinguish between regional and national TV.
The so-called “third” programs are available nationwide (except for the people who cling to their indoor antenna. And probably their CRTs).
NDR serves a region with a population of 14 million inhabitants –
for comparison, that would be roughly the same as Ireland, Scotland and Wales combined.
Your point being? German regional, local and national support for “the arts” seems pretty cool to me. And if this lady ain’t your thing, this Sunday morning the SWR regional channel brought a young artists opera competition. Etc., etc.
Nowadays there is a great thing called Youtube.
Don’t tell Olga Scheps that she is “little-known”!
Are you referring to Olga Scheps as “little known”? Really?
“little known” my foot ! Where have you been?!
Interesting work, I saw it on YouTube and marveled.
Scheps is a star. Come on ye all.
