As members of the Munich orchestras and their principal conductors, we are appalled by the news that the existence of one of the most important institutions in Austrian musical life, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, is up for grabs!
“Our colleagues at the RSO Vienna have been playing at a consistently high level for decades. It is a huge thanks to them that substantial impulses for the continuation of European music history have also come from the music country of Austria in the past seventy years. Accordingly, a dissolution of this ensemble would not only be a blow to a contemporary and diverse musical life in Austria, it would be an attack on the cultural history of our continent.”
On this way we want to signal our unrestricted loyalty to our colleagues of the RSO Vienna and call out to them, our, conviction.
