If the boss played Bach, someone got fired
RIPFrom today’s Telegraph obituary of the writer and editor Matthew Rye:
… He was soon appointed assistant editor of The Musical Times, where … the managing director had a habit of playing a Bach violin concerto as a prelude to redundancies, and one day the Bach played for Rye. He became chief sub-editor and reviews editor at BBC Music Magazine….
In other words, redundant heads were put on the chopping Bach.
(I’ll show myself out….)
