Classical photographer dies
RIPThe hyperactive Henry Grossman, famed for portraits of the Beatles and Jacqueline Kennedy, enjoyed mingling with classical meastros and would tell them he could sing in tune.
His classical sitters include Leonard Bernstein, Luciano Pavarotti, Isaac Stern and Leontyne Price. He was often seen at Metropolital Opera photoshoots… but the Beatles paid for his pension. He took 6,500 shots of George Harrison alone.
Henry’s death is reported today in the parish sheet, six weeks late. He was 86.
Boruch dayan emess. I will miss you very much Henry.
Looks like the New York Times reported it a day before you did.
