Just up: The Met gets its website back
NewsIn the last few hours , the website was restored to full functioning after eight days of outage due to a massive bot attack.
The site is a little slow but appears to be working.
The Met has issued this assurance: ‘Based upon our ongoing investigations into the recent cyberattack, we would like to reassure our customers that ticketing customer data, including credit card information used when purchasing tickets, has not been stolen. We do not keep credit card information in the systems that were affected by the cyberattack.’
Met general manager Peter Gelb described the outage as ‘the ninth circle of hell.’
The company lost a large part of $200,000 in sales every day its website was down.
Vienna’s Musikvereinsaal, meanwhile, is still down.
Oh great. I guess I can now cancel my ticket for ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and go back to the Met.
Anna’s revenge!
Musikverein Vienna is partially active. There is a provisional replacement of the official website up and running.
