Kylian Mbappe plays magic flute
OrchestrasFrench media have stumbled upon the discovery that their star footballer sent seven years studying transverse flute in the Conservatoire of Bondy, on the northeastern outskirts of Paris.
His flute teacher Françoise Ducos says: ‘He participated in auditions, in choir concerts. He liked to sing too, he liked to be in a group. He is a little boy who already liked the challenge aspect… and who always wanted to be the first to play.’
In 2018, Mbappe was presented with a silver flute by the mayor of Bondy, Sylvine Thomassin.

Nowhere does it say the mayor of Bondy presented him with a “silver” flute.
Bondy is a poor suburb near Paris, so any gift, even one made of tin, to one of the highest paid footballers around with a 630M euro deal, would a misappropriation of public funds that ought to be reprimanded.
Mbappé should sign the flute, play on it few times, and then auction it off and give the proceeds to the Bondy conservatory.
Admittedly not quite as valuable as the jersey he wore during the World Cup, but who wouldn’t bid on something that touched his lips?
Unnecessarily sour, you.
Let’s just be happy that he played flute and that music-making is an important part of his life.
A totally silly and unnecessary comment about a brilliant player who gives a great deal to charity through his foundation. How does mem know that some of his donations do not in fact go to the Conservatoire? Fact is he doesn’t know!
We should be delighted that such a global figure is interested in music. How many youngsters will be drawn to play the flute as a result? Probably a significant number.
It was easy to find a photograph of the presentation. The flute was clearly visible in its box. It was silver coloured. Not gold, not nickel, but silver. Why is that not a silver flute?
Yet another reason to admire the brilliant M. Mbappe!
