German chancellor attends pacifist ballet
balletThe unassuming Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz, who attends far fewer live performances than Angela Merkel did, made a point of turning out for John Neumeier’s new ballet in Hamburg.
The ballet is titled Dona Nobis Pacem and is based on Johann Sebastian Bach’s B-minor Mass.
Scholz has taken by far the softest position of any EU leader in the Russia-Ukraine war.
Is it the same one in which the French president was dancing the solo part?
Sort out your own leadership first!
Is this the same Scholz who has been sending a lot of heavy weaponry to Zelensky, in egregious disregard of a longstanding provision of the German constitution prohibiting the sending of arms to an active conflict zone? Not very pacifist…
How interesting. Which article of the Basic Law are you referring to? Hint: it is, to the best of my knowledge, not in the 146 articles I am familiar with. Please enlighten me!
Another Putin Troll..Verpiss Dich !
“by far the softest position of any EU leader” – I’d suggest Viktor Orban is in another league altogether:
https://www.politico.eu/article/hungary-pro-russia-stance-inevitable/
(and as already mentioned by anon: according to statista.com Germany is the 4th largest arms supplier to Ukraine, worth over $1bn)
just today Hungary has vetoed $18bn EU aid to Ukraine:
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/eu-looks-win-hungary-support-ukraine-aid-return-eu-funds-access-2022-12-06/
in a sense, NL might be right:
this can’t be described as any kind of “soft position” within the EU at all.
Viktor Orbán’s ultra right wing nationalist Fidesz government has instead adopted a strong position: pro Russia.
