David Hyslop heads his 15th orchestra
NewsThe veteran US orchestra manager has been called in by Oklahoma City Philharmonic as its Interim Executive Director.
Hyslop, 79, has an unequalled career in US orchestras as former CEO of the Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony, and Oregon Symphony.
We reckon this is his 15th orchestra top job.
Oklahoma lost its last Executive Director when Agnieszka Rakhmatullaev quit last month after three and a half years to become Senior VP and CEO of the higher ranked Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
David is what could be called a “steadying influence.” They’re lucky to have him; we’re lucky to have him and I know the head of the local nursing school in case the board gives him too many headaches.
Oklahoma City is in great hands! Congratulations David!
Is he a volunteer. Or does he earn a salary
Henry :
The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Interim Executive Director position is a paid one. The Board Chair position, which is held locally , is a volunteer position.
Glad to see you are still at it, playing tennis and shooting baskets.
