American loses major classical mail order firm

Jim Peters,  of Norbeck, Peters and Ford, is closing the mail order business after 50 years.

Bothhis partners, Peter Ford and David Norbeck, died within the last five years and the business’s last full-time employee left last week.

Norbeck, Peters and Ford offered an eclectic mix of historical classical reissues with outstandin customer service. ‘This a devastating loss for buyers of historical Classical CDs,’ says our informant. Mr. Peters is about to sell off cherished items from his personal collection.

    Well add to the list Arkivmusic which is now a shadow of its former self, and then Records International which seems to be struggling, and Amazon which used to be somewhat reliable, isn’t and where does an American go for their classical CD fix? Presto!
