Comments

  • Günther Kraus says:

Thank you to these brave singers who are speaking out!

You are supported and cheered on by the freelance singer community!

  • James Weiss says:

What are they “speaking out” against? What are their grievances?

  • Carl says:

“A press breakfast will be provided.”

Nothing signals an urgent, difficult revelation like some Viennese pastries and coffee.

  • Gustavo says:

Better take legal action against those German car industry sponsors and their political lobbyists!

The fine arts and music should not be misused as a platform to advertise technologies that feed on fossil fuels, pollute the air with emissions, cause global climate change, kill humans and animals, promote social discrepancy and envy, block public space, and act as dishonest symbols of prestige.

  • M McGrath says:

What are the complaints and criticisms referred to here?

I recall performing artists, incl. free-lancers, suffered great economic hardship during Covid times as many were locked out of opera houses, had their contracts broken by arts institutions which were in a bind to slash costs as their houses had been shut. Big name performers often had enough savings, etc., to weather the storm. Is this what this is about? If so, they have a valid point – but not an easy job ahead of them.

Now, Cafe Landtmann is a wonderful, non-rip-off place in Salzburg to go for Kaffe and Kuchen, or Kaiserschmarrn! It should prove a good draw for jaded journalists.
