Kafka symphony goes to Prague
OrchestrasThe fourth symphony by Detlev Glanert, titled Prague Symphony, will be premiered next week by the Czech Philharmonic, conducted by Semyon Bychkov.
It contains fragments of texts by Kafka, sung by Catriona Morison, mezzo-soprano, and Christian Immler, bass-baritone.
The Czech Philharmonic presents a lot of interesting and compelling programs, but they don’t do a lot of premieres. Hope it has legs.
