Berlin Phil brings back lunch
NewsMembers of the orchestra are resuming free weekday lunchtime concerts in the Philharmonie after a 30-month Covid break.
Press release:
After a break of two years due to Corona, the popular lunch concerts in the foyer of the main auditorium will finally take place again from 7 September. Every Wednesday at 13:00, different chamber music formations consisting of members of the Berliner Philharmoniker or guests will perform self-chosen programmes lasting approximately 45 minutes.
Admission is free, but will be limited to 1000 spectators.
Let’s hope a German follower of Cage doesn’t emerge with a new opus, 44′ 33”, so we won’t have to listen to Germans downing sausages and beer for music.
Brainless, unfunny and completely pointless comment.
If a vegan sourpuss add sauerkraut Croaker.
Funny is subjective, but you know, I think it’s easier to hear your comments over Cage’s music, so good job.
Dear Pong. Have you had a bad day? What’s your problem with sausages and beer? And are you sure this is louder than what Pong eats for lunch?
Why limited to 1000 spectators?
“Lord, let our audiences come back, but only gradually so we can get used to them again?”
It’s in the lobby of the Philharmonie, not in the auditorium. 1000 will be packed.
