Russian occupiers are converting the concert hall of Mariupol into the venue for a mass trial of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Cages have been erected on the concert platform to hold the unfortunate captives.

That’s how the Russian regime values culture.

  • Just saying says:

This looks like an innovative hipster alternative avant garde concert series where audiences are held captive in cages and forced to listen to Ferneyhough and Boulez. But they’ll leave converted and wanting more of it.

  • Hayne says:

Norman, are you being willfully blind? The trial is
for the neonazis and ultra nationalists. Are captured regular
Ukraine soldiers being judged there? No.
I don’t agree with the staging area and the mass trial BTW.
Then again, I don’t agree with Ukraine’s outlawing of opposition. Can the US/NATO just admit their strategy has
failed and let Ukraine come to accords with Russia?
Why keep having people die and suffer for the neocons?

    • Jean says:

I think you are being blind yourself: the “ultra nationalists” are the Russian nazis directed by Mr. Putler who, by the way, are destroying Jewish monuments of war.

Not sure if you saw the swastikas on the Russian soldiers. If you didn’t, then it is you who is being wilfully blind, Sir.

(Zelensky, by the way, is a Jew. – If you are ignoring this, you are being wilfully blind once again.)

  • Tiredofitall says:

Reading about this latest act of inhumanity literally had me weeping. And I’m not a crier.

    To what end, Mr. Putin?

  • Patrick says:

Russians have shown themselves to be barbaric neanderthals who should never be allowed to participate in civilized society again.

  • BB says:

That’s how they value culture (unless it’s “the great, great russian culture” by “great, great russian artists” pushed on naive westerners by some specialized agencies) and that’s how they value human beings. Especially if they are not russians (although the lives of their own don’t mean that much to them either) but some sort of sub-humans i.e. non-russians.

    • I beg your pardon says:

Please don’t be xenophobic and Russophobic. I’m British myself and not Russian, but we must not take this out against Russian culture and Russian people – only the Russian government are to blame, and specifically its president, who deserves our full wrath.

Just like we should not blame ALL Germans and the entire German culture/race due to the atrocities of ONE man in WW2.
