We will always remember you, Ivry! So colorful, so creative, so human. Love!

  • Paul Terry says:

Magnificent artist. I was looking forward to his contribution to the Rolling Stones’ Rock and Roll Circus, but he was drowned out by the tuneless screeching of Yoko Ono !

  • Herbie G says:

One of the greats, who lacked nothing except arrogance. He wasn’t one to cultivate chrome-plated technical perfection at the expense of individualism; each performance was a personal statement brimming with warmth and passion for the work in question. The wry smile in the picture above says it all.

He was also cast in the film ‘The Story of Adele H’, in which he played a Svengali-like character who could mesmerise the listener with his violin playing. Type-cast, I’d say!

  • Music Lover says:

Sibelius Concerto with Horenstein on Vox – greatest ever recording of this work, even in the face of stiff competition.
