Arts Council to clients: Leave London to secure a grant
NewsArts Council England has said it is handling a ‘record-breaking number of applications’, and may have to disappoint many groups in this year’s allocations.
‘It is likely that we will be unable to fund many good applications, including from those organisations currently in the National Portfolio, as well as those that are not,’ says ACE.
However, a new Transfer Programme will distribute £8m a year to groups that agree to relocate to another part of the country.
Tired of London? There’s life out there.
“Tired of London? There’s life out there.”
For those of us “out there” Yes, we are tired of London and the largesse that our taxes are disproportionately channeled towards. And, NL, your use of ‘out there’ shows your own patronising attitude to what are still seen as the provinces in its most condescending meaning.
Life goes on, there are loads of basses out there.
There certainly IS life outside of London!
£8m sounds like a lot if you say it quickly, a bit like that £25m for instruments for schools.
