No loss. No ear. He should have been a jackhammer operator
Glad Verbier finally removed him from their concert listings. It appears they were among the last to do so.
Is this even a coherent entry? Purpose? Significance?
No, more like one of your commenters here reminding him how good he is, and reminding him that art and politics are separate.
Many of us know full well that Gergiev has controversial opinions about quite a few social issues, but we must not list this keep us from enjoying his art at least in recordings, having stated this, yes there must be a separation between arts and politics. Artistic institutions must also understand that everyone is free and entitled to their own opinions, this is part of a strong democracy as well. An artist must understand that he or she belongs to the public or at least their art, and be sensitive in the manner in which opinion are expressed and to whom they are expressed.
Endorsing a dictator who invades a foreign country, is part of a strong democracy? Good joke.do you seriously believe this nonsense?LOL….as for the separation of arts and politics. There never was one….remember Beethoven? BTW,Gergiev is a prime example for non separation of art and politics..He explicitly made political statements..pro Pootin statements. Now he has to face the consequences..Grow up!!!!
It’s your loss Gergiev is banned for his opinions (not crimes or even actions). Plenty of work for him in Russia. Russian public is happy to see him more often. Sad times for freedom of speech “west” has been preaching for so long – truth is out.
