Ruth Leon recommends…An Introduction to Raphael – National Gallery
Ruth Leon recommendsAn Introduction to Raphael – National Gallery
To serve as an introduction to the National Gallery’s major new exhibition, this is a short biographical film about Raphael from the exhibition’s curator, Matthias Wivel, who has written extensively about the artist.
Raphael was a giant of the Renaissance – artist, architect, author, designer, archaeologist and poet. The mystery is how one man, who died at the age of 37, could possibly have achieved so much?
This absorbing short film doesn’t so much tell us how, as what. And that’s quite enough.
(would someone mind clarifying who is this Ruth Leon and why it matters that *she* recommends something?)
